The Foundry: a Christian Church

Week 2 - The Image of the Invisible God (Col 1:15–20)

Trevor Harrison

This passage contains one of the most powerful Christological statements in the New Testament. Jesus is described as the visible image of the invisible God and the firstborn over all creation.

He is not merely a teacher or moral example — He is supreme over creation, the church, and redemption.

All things were created through Him and for Him.

This sermon anchors the church in the greatness of Christ and reinforces that our unity and mission flow from His authority.

Big Idea: Jesus is supreme over all creation — everything exists through Him, for Him, and because of Him.
